Israel Teaching Fellows

Welcome to Israel Teaching Fellows in Ramla or Ashdod

Israel Teaching Fellows

Oranim Project's Israel Teaching Fellows program is looking for outstanding college graduates who will be selected to close the achievement gap in Israel’s education system through volunteering as English teachers’ aides in schools throughout Ramla-Lod and Ashdod. Israel Teaching Fellows is made possible by the generous support of the Ministry of Education of the State of Israel and is a Masa Israel Journey accredited program.

All participants will attend a one month, 85 hours, pedagogical training program prior to beginning their volunter service in the public school system in Ramla-Lod or Ashdod. This program will be run by one of Israel's leading academic colleges. The pedagogical training program will cover the following topics:

  • The Israeli School System
  • The National English Curriculum
  • The "Weak Learner"
  • Methods for Teaching English in Small Groups
  • Classroom Observation

As an Israel Teaching Fellows participant, you will be integrated into the Israeli society through the course of your 10 month stay in Ramla-Lod or Ashdod. Oranim's flagship volunteer program was first established in the city of Ramla-Lod five years ago. A mixed population town with Arab and Jewish Israelis living in co-existence, Ramla-Lod is your number one destination to make a deep impact and change the world through education. Once the capital city of Israel, Ramla-Lod is considered the hub of Israel, conveniently located between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

We are happy announce an additional location for the program in Ashdod. Ashdod, the fifth largest city in Israel. A 20 minute drive from Tel Aviv, Ashdod is located in the Southern district of Israel along the Mediterranean coast. Participants will be able to enjoy Ashdod's beautiful beaches while giving back to the city they will call home for 10 months.

By being part of Oranim's Israel Teaching Fellows, you're part of a much larger program. With anywhere from 250-300 Oranim participants located throughout Israel at any given time, you're sure to make friends and have the experience you've been waiting for!
