About Masa Israel Journey



Destination Israel’s long-term Israel programs are recognized as Masa Israel programs by Masa Israel Journey. Masa Israel provides financial support and other resources to participants on Masa Israel programs - defined as long-term programs in Israel. In order for you to receive a grant or scholarship from Masa Israel for Masa Israel programs, you must fill out their application, in addition to a Destination Israel program application (you will be linked directly to the Masa Israel application from our application site).

In order to be eligible for Masa Israel grants or scholarships for our Masa Israel programs, you must meet the following qualifications:

 


  • Jewish
  • Do not have Israeli citizenship (if yes, must have left Israel before age of 14 and have lived outside Israel for 4 years or more)
  • Have not been on an organized long-term (4 months or longer) program in Israel since September 2004
  • Graduated high school by program start date
  • Must be between 18-30 years of age by the start date of the program

Please note: If you do not meet the Masa Israel program requirements, you may still be eligible for an Destination Israel program, but you will not receive any financial aid (grant or scholarship) from Masa Israel.

If participate on second program $1500 universal grant + needs based gets carried over.
$4750 standard grant

If participate on second program, will receive another $4750 standard grant.

$5000 standard grant

If participate on second program, will receive another $5000 standard grant.

$3000 universal grant + up to $2000 needs based grant

If participate on second program, receive partial universal grant + needs based grant.
18-20 $500 universal grant + $1500 needs based grant

If participate on second program, only needs-based gets carried over.
$4750 standard grant

If participate on second program, will receive another $4750 standard grant.

$5000 standard grant

If participate on second program, will receive another $5000 standard grant.

$500 universal grant + up to $4500 needs based grant

If participate on second program, only needs-based gets carried over.


If you are from the US or Canada: additional needs-based scholarships ($1500 for a 5 month program, $3000 for a 10 month program) will be awarded to participants from households with a proven per-capita income totaling less than $22,500 in the local currency. If you receive scholarship, it will be added to your grant money.

If you are from Argentina, you are expected to receive $4750 in scholarships for a 5 month program, and $9500 for a 10 month program.

If you are from the rest of the world: additional needs-based scholarships (up to $5000 for a 5 month program, up to $10,000 for a 10 month program) will be awarded to participants from households with a proven per-capita income totaling less than $22,500 in the local currency. If you receive a scholarship you will not receive grant money.

PLEASE NOTE:
One is only permitted to request needs – based financial assistance from Masa Israel when the cost of the program exceeds the Masa Israel grant.
