Educational Villages

Welcome

Help Prepare Israel's Educational Villages for the Next School Year!

Throughout Israel, Educational Villages have been created as an outlet for alternative education for youth ranging from 5-19. These villages are commonly referred to as boarding schools, modeled after the European concept. Residential education is believed to have special value for the two major population targets of Youth Aliyah - immigrant youth and young people from deprived social groups. It creates a strong, influential environment that neutralizes the negative influence of an underprivileged neighborhood, promotes social integration, and provides a broad range of extracurricular activities that may not be available in the home setting. There are 60 youth villages in Israel today, with a student population of 18,000.

This winter or summer break, spend a few weeks helping prepare and maintain the educational villages for the school year!
