Why Spend The Holidays at Home
When You Can Spend them in Tel Aviv?

Are you ready to enhance your resume and/or get college credit for meaningful work?

Professional & Academic Internship in Israel is a unique a la carte program for students and professionals of all ages and religious identities who are seeking one or more of the following benefits...

  • Have your resume jump out of the stack because of your international experience with a strong company or NGO
  • Get college credit for your work, and for a variety of other optional courses
  • Spend meaningful time in Israel

Our internship Placement Coordinator will work with you to build the ideal experience. Internships are available throughout the country, in every field. Head to Jerusalem and intern for an MK (Knesset Member); live beachside in Tel Aviv and work in marketing; settle in Haifa and join an international hi-tech firm - we’ll find you the right position in the right city. Internships are available for two months and longer; the longer you commit to staying, the more likely we will be able to find you an excellent position (in Israel, interns don’t just make copies and coffee - they get hands-on practice in their field, so our top companies prefer a longer commitment). All graduates of the Professional & Acadmic Internship in Israel experience will, upon completion of internships, receive a certificate of accomplishment from Oranim and your supervisor.

Turn your internship experience into a study abroad program!

Optional: earn college credit for your programming and activities! Oranim partners with Ono Academic College to provide you with college credit for your internship and for other optional courses. Ono College is a fully accredited institution of higher learning, serving 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

In addition to you for-credit internship, the following elective courses are offered for credit:

Hebrew Language: 6 credits
Volunteering - Social Justice: 4 credits
Field Study of Israeli History (touring): 4 credits

In order to receive credits for your internship and/or the above courses, you will be expected to write at least one term paper for each class, and pay a per-credit tuition supplement.

Where will you live?

Choose to live on your own (find your own apartment or live with family) or let us place you in the city and level of accommodation that suits you best. We are flexible: you can come any day of the year, and we’ll find you accommodations OR you can select to begin your internship on a standard program start date and be a part of a community of interns (this option is mandatory for participants who wish to participate in one or more of the elective courses)

Program Cost and A La Carte Services
The flat-rate for the program (internship only) is $500. In addition to internship placements, Oranim provides a la carte services so you can design a unique academic, travel and lodging experience in Israel. You may elect to book one of the following services:

  • Housing (economy lodging to five-star accommodations)
  • Academic credit for internship (requires project)
  • Courses for credit
  • Domestic transportation
  • Day and overnight trips - with a group or private guide
  • Travel insurance
  • Hebrew Ulpan
  • Private lectures on Israeli culture, politics or society
  • Guided museum and/or site visits

Please note: our internship coordinators will begin the placement process only upon receipt of your $500 program fee.

Medical Insurance
Oranim requires participants to be covered by Israeli medical insurance. Participants are required to buy a medical insurance package (covering the duration of their program) from Oranim. The insurance doesn't cover pregnancies, prior diseases and drugs or alcohol-related sickness or injury.
