Some people see the glass half full and others see it half empty. I and many fellow participants feel that it has been a worth while experience. We decided to put creativity and heart into the volunteering we have completed. When our days were not filled with volunteering, we took advantage of the time to see the land and have fun in this country; we are so lucky that Oranim gave us the freedom to do this. I received so much from this experience – more than I could even explain to you. I have become a better person and now I want to learn more about the world and how all things operate within it. This experience has stirred my curiosity and made me feel more alive.
Special thanks to the Oranim staff - I can name a handful of people from Oranim who I respect and appreciate for their generosity of their time and their knowledge. I will go home a new person, a better person. Sometimes you have to remove yourself from the bubble of the program and understand life from outside of the box. Some make the choice to be happy and others make the choice to be miserable. Some make the choice to focus on negativity and those who bring them down while others do something to bring happiness to the environment and surround themselves with optimistic people. No doubt, I’ve come across struggles here but it’s only a part of life. It is our responsibility to overcome these struggles, not to complain about them.
I am sending you this to say thank you once again. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. And with so many squeaky wheels, it’s rare that you notice the silence of the perfectly working wheel.
